Russia is negotiating delivery of Mi-17V-5 helicopters to Colombia

During the Expo Defensa 2017 exhibition, Anatoly Punchuk, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation of Russia, announced that there are negotiations between Russia and Colombia for the supply of Mi-17V-5 helicopters.

Currently, there are about 20 helicopters of the type in Colombia in operation, after the good experience one could collect, consider the Colombian military, the purchase of additional helicopters of this type.

The Mi-17 helicopters have been produced since 1977 and are mainly used as transport helicopters. However, there are also ways to equip the helicopters with up to 1,500 kg of missiles or bombs.
