The Aviatik B.I was the first military aircraft, which was built by the Automobile and Aviation AG in Mulhouse (Alsace) for the German Air Force and served as reconnaissance aircraft in the First World War.
Development and construction:
The company Automobile and Aviatik AG made from the year 1910 aircraft. First, under license, the French models Hanriot and Farman were rebuilt until the company produced their first own models.
The Aviatik B.I was a replica of the French biplane P.14 and was produced from 1914. The designation B.I was used at the outbreak of the war, when the German Air Force began to use these aircraft as reconnaissance aircraft.
Under license, this aircraft was also used in Austria-Hungary for the k.u.k. Air Force built.
Use in the First World War:
With the outbreak of the First World War, Aviatik B.I aircraft were used as reconnaissance aircraft from the beginning.
In 1915, the successor B.II was brought to the front and gradually replaced the model B.I until 1916, as they were unarmed and had only insufficient armor.
By the end of the war, however, these aircraft were still used for the training and training of pilots.

Fokker Dr I Aces of World War 1 (Aircraft of the Aces)
Undoubtedly the most famous fighter type to see service on either side during World War 1, the Fokker Dr I was a revelation when it entered service on the western front in 1917.
